Description
Final airbrushed work based on a sketch I did quite a while ago. This version is 18 inches by 24 inches (45cm x 60 cm). All freehand airbrushed. This idea started from a shot I got at a car show of a yellow 23 bucket T. Then I came up with the idea of telling the story of how hot rodding is passed down from generation to generation. Almost everyone that gets bitten by the speed bug had an uncle, dad, grandfather or something that took them on a hellride or handed them the keys. My Uncle was that guy for me.
If you care to zoom on the front hubcap, you can see the pissed off old neighbor lady walking her dog and the next generation hot rodder riding his Big Wheel. Enjoy!-

I would like to add something:
I believe the front wheel is not blurred because it is not moving fast: the car is just heading off with a standstill burnout.
Interesting we interpreted it differently. To me, by looking at the painting, it seemed obvious and I wouldn't have thought it was moving fast at all.
It means he did a great job blurring only where necessary.
I really like the background blur, too by the way

great work on the carbs and bolwer. great detail for 18x24.
I will add a little Critique since you asked, overall it looks great, the one thing that sticks out is the chrome
It's perfect except it looks like it's done in two differant color shades. The center of the wheel is very bright
(sunny day) but the outer ribs of the rim are (clowdy day) scoop, blower, raidiator, could all use a little more blue and green.
But man thats just knit picking, your chrome still looks awsome. (better than mine) i overwork the hell outa some chrome. LOL.

I was thinking some of the same about the colors in the chrome work, good call. I may rework those a bit and re-clear coat it. I appreciate nit picking, cause thats what makes it right Thanks!!!

I loved the previous versio of this picture but this one is far better. The are stunning - you can even see a woman with a dog on the hubcap. I love the details of te engine and the way you did the characters. I like their expressions.

I'd write this as a Critique (but I don't have Premium sadly)
I really like this picture, the design and atmosphere of it is warm, welcoming and overall just great.
The attention to detail and size, proportions is all very realistic, I really can't find many flaws with this picture. Besides that the two people (You and Your Uncle?) seem to be drawn/painted in a different style than the rest of the picture. They feel more bright and cartoony, and their faces are also kind of odd (mostly on the young boy).
Besides that, this picture is pretty good. I can't find many flaws in it and I adore the smoke effects. (The shines and the reflections are great too, love the hubcap one!)

Thank you for the critique! I think your assessment is very fair, I made the people up without references and that may account for the difference in style you perceive.
