Description
A quick digital painting over a larger drawing which I did during October this year, as part of the INKtober initiative
(I have done all 31 drawings for three years in a row... but I don't post it around here. Check my instagram if you want to take a look).
This is a Battle Armor Lost Predator, inspired by NECA's action figure - precisely, from series 11. This bio-mask is an original design by NECA which was applied to one of the Yautja Predators seen in Predator 2. This one is remarkable by his hi-tech armor, and because of that he's been called as Borg by some fans. I'm a fan of both ALIEN and Predator franchises since childhood, especially because of the comics and also the original ALIEN movie. I also liked the original AvP as a 10 years old, but as I grew up I started to see some of its flaws. As I grew up I also started to admire more the concept behind H.R. Giger's art, especially his (critique?) views of reproductive biology. As for Predator, I grew up reading Dark Horse's Alien, Predator and Alien vs Predator franchises, and while today some of them may look or read as some goofy stuff for 90's teenagers, they still have some place for me among influential comics. And the concept between the Yautja culture, and the first Predator, is genius, even though I'm not particularly fond of any Predator movie (especially the forgettable last installment. I didn't expect it to be good, but it is just really bad).
Maybe one day I'll finish this painting, I mean, over the entire drawing - but currently I'm just finishing a larger project, so this won't see the light of say so soon. Anyway... I hope you liked it as much as I did producing it!
