Description
The Hornet is a futuristic, post-apocalyptic, animal-inspired cyborg version of "Marvin Chad", a major character from BYDURAK (a series of stories which draw inspiration from stories I used to create as a kid, plus more outside influences). In this continuity, his present and future selves are united in a single consciousness, and can be summoned to each other's times. More than that, they're also linked to the consciousnesses of Marvins from different alternate dimensions.
Marvin started his life as a clone programmed to be an infiltrator and hitman under the wing of the young super-heroine/vigilante WASP (secret id. Nina Everton, Marvin's first crush), and during that time he was known as ALPHA. The Wasp, alongside her super-heroine colleague and best friend SHELL (secret id. Ann G. Waters, daughter of philanthropist, entrepeneur, master of the occult, chief police officer of Ashville and, at the time, owner of the multi-billion investment known as AG Island, a prototype of an utopia which would become Neo Alexandria), used to fight anyone considered a criminal in AG Island, and were thus enforcers of Ann's father's laws. Ann's father, Archibald Graham, is like aforementioned, a man who has broken the barrier of sleep, used a silver key and assimilated the logic of chaos, thus is present under a single consciousnesses upon several distinct dimensions. This most wicked and treacherous man, yet loving to his family, yearns to create a perfectly automated utopia, albeit one in conjunction with what he considers the human element - unlike the nothing human rivals of his, SPECTRO and ONYX. Archibald is strangely related to Marvin Chad (sometimes also referred to as Marvin Hamilton, or Marvin Caine): Marvin is his clone, one created by master cloner Ethelbert, with support from another cloner, Hajimoto, and commissioned by SPECTRO himself, who has collected Archibald's hair for studies.
After the AG island was destroyed, and both the Wasp, Shell and their sidekicks, have run out of support, they moved back to their normal lives while Archibald tried to make sure his enemies wouldn't defeat him in the future, focusing on penalizing those involved with AG island's destruction in different times, including the present, so that the dimension when AG island's future and most important counterpart, NEO ALEXANDRIA, ruled absolute, was preserved. Marvin continued his life as a high schooler and vigilante, or better yet, mercenary for hire. Eventually, several of his jobs helped that of Ashville PD which Archibald run, and once again Marvin took Archibald's attention. Unwilling to let his clone fall to enemy hands, and aware of his purpose - tentatively reproducing Archibald's ability to travel through dimensions and times, and to understand the power of the Red Chaos, or the No Fayan Spirit - Archibald has become closer to Marvin, who saw in him a father-like inspiration.
Marvin's association with Archibald earned him a silver key himself, though it only shows how misguided and convenient (for Archibald) such trust was, as Marvin increasingly developed into Archibald's attempt to deviate his enemies and curses from him, using his new agent as an interdimensional shield against potential threats. Eventually, Marvin became symbiotically connected to the No Fayan spirit, whose interests often coincided with those of Archibald, save for some details which the trickster god disagreed in relation to the time traveller. Chad, on the other hand, was dangerously more susceptible to become a tool of such entity, and despite following Archibald's instructions, he could put the entire reality in danger. Yet, he considered the Red Chaos as a friend, and that helped him some times.
As the Hornet, Marvin is a warrior of Neo Alexandria who also plays a role on its legislative branch, as he was also a major defender of Archibald during his trial by the Crossbill (or rather his nemesis, SPECTRO, impersonating him), who after years of cold war decided to expose the time crimes by which Archibald managed to keep the dimension of Neo Alexandria thriving and influencing several other dimensions. Marvin has a crush on a certain prosecutor who works alongside the Ashville PD and in Neo Alexandria is known as the Arbiter . The Hornet's services for Archibald also made him a closer friend to Archibald's daughter, Ann, at least in the present time, where both study in the same school. But in the future, Cleopatra is much more closed to her own endeavors, and the Hornet acts as an enforcer of Neo-Alexandria against the Resistance. Ironically or not, one of the most influential figures of the Resistance is the Subcommander Aurelia, whose past self is none other than Nina Everton, his first crush, and Ann's best friend in the past. She has also been present in different versions on a single dimension, when her future travelled back to the past and became a social sciences teacher to, among other students, her own past self. At that time, though, she had no memory of her past as Nina.
In the recent developments, Marvin stepped out of the shadows as a sidekick to arguably become the current protagonist of BYDURAK. His careless persona and relatable decadence, alongside his will to understand humanity better, despite suffering a lot for it, and his iron will, have also supported this position.
I hope you like it as much as I did producing it!

Pretty cool! Reminds me of a Michael Bay-version of the Insecticons.

Thanks! The Waspinator and Buzzsaw from the Beast Wars Era were some inspiration for this one, too.
