Description
Ariel and her father King Triton of Disney's The Little Mermaid. This is by far without a doubt, my most favorite scene of the movie. I cry every time I watch Ariel embrace her father as she says those words, "I Love you daddy." It just gets to me. I decided I wanted to try and recreate the scene. It didn't turn out the way I would have liked but I am still pleased with it. Enjoy. I dedicate this to all the "Daddy's little girls" out there.Done with colored pencil.

Me and my Dad aren't exactly close 
I still feel it even at the age I am now, even though we have a heck of alot of disagreements and I do still feel bitter about the things he's done in the past, deep down I know I still care for him, and I both love and hate that feeling, if you understand what I mean... 
Admittedly, This gets get kinda teary eyed

AWWWWWWWWWWW I LOVE THIS PART!!!!! when I first saw this scene in theater I was a little girl sitting next to my Daddy in the movie seat while next to my wheelchair on the other side i was holding his big hand with my small hand and I said the same thing "I love you, Daddy." my father got teary eyed. and replied. "I love you too, Princess."

Awwww, I love this secne too....maybe because I'm not in very good terms with my dad (The less said, the better) But that scene always makes me wanna cry. I love it .

Yes I would imagine scenes like that to have been commonplace in the 19th century or so, especially if the young bride and her groom were moving far away from her parents.

i remember re watching the movie after like ten years, crying when that scene hit. definantly my favorite scene too.

What a wonderful comment! I always get choked up over this part of the movie. There is a very good chance that you'll find a tear stream down my face when I watch this scene. I think it's a very powerful and emotional moment and that is why I wanted to attempt to draw it. Glad you like it!
