Description Here's my latest original design scratchbuilt/kitbashed model- a monster 40 inch spaceship. Thousands of hand-cut small rectangles make up most of the hull detail, with spare model parts from kits making up other detail.

Here's all the shots of this model:

thats huge by the way. maybe one of the pics u use should have your hand in it so we get a better idea of the scale. and that orange button. is that pressable?

im really interested in your whole modelmaking thing now. do you start with sketches or build mostly randomly? this spaceship would be a great addition to my room

I make a quick sketch of the general shape but the details and "outcroppings" come as I build.

The "button" is actually just another piece of detail, not a button-when it's painted it'll look more like the rest of the ship. You wouldn't believe how many people aske me what the button is for, LOL!

oh yeah and I have more questions! (you dont mind do you?)

on the topic of the purpose of the orange button. do you have ideas of what parts of the spaceship are for? just like in ur head u know building something like that would be like creating this story in your head. "this part shields the ship for when the salmon attack, this part releases excess steam, this bit is the air conditioning" lol - kind of like that but with more cool space-geeky functions than i can think of.

heh this multi-conversation thing we're having is weird.

Don't mind at all!

I have general ideas about details-I know where the engine is, where the bridge is, where the trans-dimensional biunilateralamphibiazoid is (heh). I never really think about individual pieces that I glue on, but groups of pieces start forming ideas in my head about function, etc.

biunilateralamphibiazoid

i can sort of pronounce that. you got a definition of that somewhere?

the interest in models might be because i've been forced to build some really simple ones recently and they were pretty difficult :S

anyways thats all for tonight... i have to get off deviant and the computer for today, lol. been on too long. cya!
