Hey!
Thanks so much for the comment! I've loved YOUR gallery since I first ran across it months ago.
Which tutorial did you do? (I have 32 of them so wasn't sure which one).
Take care and thanks again.

Very cool, I may be asking you for permission to use this. These are excellent textures and lights and darks, some of which I've been trying to achieve with my cell phone camera. (I'm no photographer,) But I' like to integrate it into some of my work. Great job!!! Great series!!!

sorry about my other comment on your scrap building stuff... i ended up doing something (not really sure what) that turned my computer off. lol.
i can't find an example.
and im thinking what i want to know about pertains to flash... but, i guess yahoo might be a good example. The set of buttons across the top (links) that are in a row about the search field... and if you hover over them, they turn red and change shape to show a little "down" tab with the original button shape. is that flash? or that an integration of different graphics? it's so confusing, because none of that has been taught to me in school as of yet, however, other students are making some pretty cool things such as that.
as for flash... do you or your site have any tutorials on that? but yeah.. i think that's about it, sorry for putting this in on your picture comments... it didn't occur to me where else to stick it.

Hey-
I went to Yahoo's site, and it looks like that effect is done with javascript instead of flash (I viewed their source code and they use a LOT of javascript it seems). You could do something similar in Flash, though.
Have you had any Flash yet? It's pretty fun. Here's a Flash page I did a few years back. It kinda looks outdated now, but it was pretty cool at the time I thought:

I don't have any flash tutorials yet. Tell me your level of experience with Flash and I can put some up for you.

I had one flash lesson in a mac dreamweaver class I had, but I missed that day and never did the assignment. So... I know absolutely nothing. However, I have looked at a couple different tutorials online, and have a very simple understanding that it works in specific layers, that are kinda like, given a specific way to act if a specific thing happens. kinda...
i don't have the software, but if i need it, i won't have any trouble finding it. but other than that, i know nothing.
you're website doesn't seem very outdated, but, i like the format of it. i've wanted to be able to do something similar with a more connected interface (one that would look like a sort of machinery or something with all the buttons on it, that hugs the top and side of the page (kinda wraps around) and thanks to the tutorials i looked at, i have a better understanding on I would make that, but not make it interactive. so yeah.
thank you so much for the offer to make tutorials and what not (for both flash or photoshop). the flash ones would be great... and im not really sure yet about photoshop (i usually go learn as i try to make something but can't). but, i mean, only if you have time. i don't want to like... make you feel obligated. but, if sometime in the future you do, i would love that. and appreciate it a whole ton.
Thanks, and sorry the one comment i left you went all crazy and posted 3 times. lol.

I like this one the best of all. I think it's because of the grime. Plus the angle. Makes it the most visually interesting. It definately gives you the feeling of and old, unused item. Very nice. Black and white makes it even better, and I like the technique you used. Very cool
