Description
Oil on paper, made with palette knives. This is some rather experimental stuff, thought about which colors to use and wound up using pretty much all of them at once. Sorry if your eyes hurt! This one is for sale, drop me a note if you are interested

Never tried oil painting before, looks so fun to use, I only use acrylic.

It's pretty much the same, though oils do smell better imo (and that's probably the reason I use them). They also feel better to me when doing impasto paintings.

I did tried oil once, it didn't mix up with water, lol I guess it uses a lot of paint, I love your gallery it's similar to Van Gogh. Β
I want to explore this kind of art someday, this are the expensive looking type of art Β

Oil paints don't usually mix with water, you have to use oil, turpentine or mineral spirit. I don't mix them with anything, but that's another story. And I am very happy my gallery reminded you of Van Gogh, he is my favorite painter.

Β hey I tried painting through color pastel mixed with oil and experimented awhile ago, if you don't mind and a spare time can you see and critique my work
It didn't achieve that texture like yours and looked similar to acrylic.

I just did. And well, texture comes 1. from the knives and 2. from the use of lots of paint (impasto). More texture doesn't necessarily make things better though
