Description inspired me to do a time warp meme! I present everything you didn't know about my childhood! Since I'm only at the mere age of seventeen, the time-jumps are small. But it's needed, because I have been through every awkward stage there is! I have changed rapidly from Insufferable Know-it-all to Violin playing Weeaboo to Trashy Just-teenager to Red Bowling-ball to the present me.

Learning to read sheet music is very valuable, and even if I stopped playing the violin I use it when playing the piano and singing You shouldn't take my violin experience as a guidance since everyones is different, but I thought it was very fun and it helped develop my musical skills. It was at the end that it became too much, cause I was quite young and got tired of it!
Oh and playing in an orchestra was the best part of it, do you as well?

Okay, thank you for the advice. I've met many other violinists, and they all tell me that reading music is very helpful, but it may take a while. Plus, I love music and trying to figure out different songs by ear, but learning to read notes would pay off, and i'm trying my best to reach my goal. (does that sound too cheesy?)
And no, i'm not in orchestra, but a lot of my friends are, and they say that they like it better than solo lessons! So i'm really looking forward to it, specially because I get to go next year!
