but... if luna is casting the sppell, and she doesn't seem to have any genetic material from twilight, then wouldn't that would make the child either luna's or a clone of pinkie?
but then again, my explanation is more like magically augmented in vitro fertilization, and that isn't very romantic. mainly because one of the participants needs to give a bone marrow sample which is quite painful.

not normally it doesn't. normally, you just take a spwrm sample from a man and an egg sample from a woman, but in this case since both are women, so you need an alternate source. Bone Marrow contains Stem Cells. Stem Cells are sort of like blank cells that can become any kind of cell. the idea is to take the stem cells from the one marrow, and force them to become sperm cells, which HAS been done in real life. then perform an in vitro fertilization with the manufactured stem cells.
