Description Code Name: All Hallows Eve
Real Name: Eve Alchemy Halloran
Occupation: Student/Superheroine
Legend: While there are many different tales of how Jack O'Lantern came to be, this version is the most common. Long ago, Stingy Jack was a small time crook with a reputation for being a smooth talker. One Halloween Night, his number came up and the Devil arrived to take him to Hades. But, with a silver tongue, Jack convinced Mephistopheles that, in exchange for an apple, he would go with him willingly and not put up a fight. Excited, the Devil agreed to his proposal and climbed the nearest apple tree to fetch him his payment. But Stingy Jack was a cunning criminal. He trapped Old Nick by drawing a cross on the tree's trunk. Although the Prince of Darkness threatened him with eternal suffering, Jack refused to set the Devil free until he vowed to never claim his soul. Eventually, the Evil One gave his promise and was released. Because of that promise, Stingy Jack cannot not go to Hell. However, his wicked ways also prevent him from going to Heaven. As a result, his spirit is now cursed to roam the Earth forever, with only a glowing pumpkin to light his way. That is the legend of Jack O'Lantern. To make up for all his evil deeds, Jack has granted his supernatural powers to a kindhearted country girl named Eve Halloran. Armed with an array of ghostly abilities, she tries to set his wrongs right by fighting crime and injustice everywhere as our beloved heroine All Hallows Eve. And so, the legend continues...
Powers: Supernatural strength and speed, flight, the Samhain Ray (a beam of pure fear energy that fires from her fingertip), the Phanto-Power (a ghostly aura that lets her turn invisible and walk through walls), the power to look like a total dork at any given moment.
Weaknesses: Any source of positive energy, blindness in her left eye, lack of actual combat skill.
Catchphrase: "It's Harvest Time!"

Writing Tips:
-The stories I wrote took place in the 1950s. While her views would be considered very Liberal for the time, by today's standards she would be seen as moderately Conservative.
-Eve represents Nietzsche's superman in the truest sense. In his work, the superman's only definable feature is the ability to overcome.
-Eve's identity is not a secret to anyone.
-Stingy Jack often acts as Eve's sidekick. Imagine if Batman and the Joker were on the same team.
-Eve ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. She's the one you can't break.
-Eve is an anti-antihero.
-All of these are just guidelines. Reboot her however you want.

Precisely. She is a functional, upbeat and morally inclined heroine who exists as a deliberate inversion of the values represented by the popular antihero trope that has saturated the superhero genre for the past 37 years. A nice superhero? Who'da thunk?

Awesome. A real heroine is what we need in these days of postmodern malaise.
