Kid? Your not much older than me. π But yeah. We should KETCHUP while we have the chance. *You finished some ketchup and grabbed some more things. You grabbed a couple snacks and water bottles, and your last two ketchup bottles. You also grabbed a first aid kit. You put it all into a smaller backpack, but with more pockets to store them. You slung it over your back.*
You ready Sans?
Sans: yeah. Paps went to bed, so we should leave before he wakes up. *you grab Sans' hand and teleport back to the dark room.*

*Your pupils glow in the darkness as you awkwardly carry your scythe, which is slightly taller than you. You eye your surroundings wearily, having a better idea of what to expect this time.*
"Let's just hope they don't come in larger sizes, we were lucky to encounter a smaller one."

Yeah and the small one nearly tore my throat out. Let's go. *you and sans are back to back, armed with physical weapons moving cautiously down the hall. You hear a growl from a heap to your left. Sans gets ready to jump it, but you motion to stay. You quietly move further along the dark hallway.*
Sans.. Shhh we don't know how ma- *Sans accidentally almost trips on a contraption. It catches the attention of the four amalgamates in the heaps.*
Sans: ... Shit. Welp, now we do!
Get ready for a fight! HRUAHHHH!!
Sans: HRAHHHHH!! *you and sans charge at the agitated amalgamates, 2 to each of you.*

*You attempt to slice one in half, but it goes right through. The only thing this accomplished was making the amalgamate even more irritated and produce a horrible screeching sound.*
"What even are these??"
*The amalgamates home in on me, forcing me backwards as I continue to attack. You were starting to really freak out. You tried using blue magic, but nothing happened. Do they not have souls?*

*you set your katana on fire, purple flames flickering from the blade. You jump next to Sans and slice one of them, relieving some of his burden.*
Use magic and physical attacks at once! Set the scythe on fi- MPHH!
*an amalgamate jumps on you, and pins you. It attempts to bite your neck, but you move your head quickly. The other two go to Sans. You cared more about his safety than your own, so you drew the only dagger you had and threw it at one of the amalgamates. It dissolved.*
Sans: Amber!! (Ye BTW her name is actually Amber earlier I didn't know what to call her so I used part of my username x3 but ye her name's Amber.)
*the amalgamate picks you up by the hood of your jacket and throws you against the wall. It made a gash on your head, and blood started to dribble down your face.*

*You run over to Amber to see if they're alright, the amalgamates close behind. You whirl around and stand in their way as to not let them injure Amber any more.*
"nobody hURTS MY Β FRIENDS!!"
*You yelled as your scythe set ablaze, slashing through them with all your might. They dissolve instantly leaving you alone once again. You ran for the backpack lying on the ground, which you remember there being a first aid kit in.Β You snatch it and run back to Amber's side, grabbing some bandages, carefully wrapping them around their head. You shook them gently as to not cause any more pain.*
"hey, you with me?"
*You try to hide your panic.*

Urgh.. aghh dammit! *sigh* I-Im okay.. *after Sans was done wrapping your head, you tried to stand up. You nearly fell, as you got a little dizzy from blood loss.*
Sans: you sure your okay? π°
Yeah.. I'll live.. We should keep moving.
Sans: you should rest. You practically got your skull bashed in.
Mm... Fine. *you reach in your bag and grab two small little cloth boxes.*
Sans: what is that? *you both sit down.*
Sleeping bags. *you push a button, and the two cloth boxes turn into sleeping bags. Sans decided not to question it, as he knew she was all about little tricks.*
Sans: you are really prepared arentcha.
Would I be me if I wasn't? *you and sans lit a small fire, blue and purple flames flickered.*

*You settled down next to the warm fire and lay down, keeping watch for any more amalgamates. After a while you fell asleep anyway, and thankfully none came. You were finallyΒ able to relax after all that had happened.*

*you awoke before Sans, and sat up. Your head still ached from being thrown into a wall, but it wasn't as bad. You rummaged through your bag, and got out two Instant Noodles. You carefully set one by Sans' sleeping bag. You ate some of the instant noodles. You thought, 'I wonder.. Will this even work? Will there be enough DETERMINATION to stop the kid? What'll happen if it's not enough?' Just then, you saw Sans roll out of his sleeping bag in his slumber.*
*sigh* c'mere. *you set your noodles down and gently picked him up so as to not disturb him. You set him in your lap, so as he wouldn't roll away again. He actually seemed to be sleeping peacefully. You wished you could say the same for yourself.*

*stretches out and opens an eye*
"heya. ya feeling any better?"
*smiles lazily and looks around and then up at you*
"heh. how's the weather up there?"

Mm.. Lil cloudy. You nearly rolled away, out of your sleeping bag. Could've gotten yourself buried in one of the heaps. Though, you seem to do it daily at home!
Sans: heh. How's that head of yours?
Still hurts like hell. But I'll pull through. Lets just hope mama amalgamate doesn't show up. Oh, there's breakfast over there. *you point to the instant noodles.*
Sans: still better than tem flakes if ya ask me.
Alphys always eats them. Don't know why. Probably something to do with the surface and the human's anime or something.

*picks up a bowl and takes a sip*
"hey, it's better than pap's spaghetti."
*frowns a little*
"okay, that was mean. he's improving."
*looks at a shadowy hallway that's connected to the room*
"i wonder if alphys know about those things. i mean, it's kinda hard to ignore but how has she lived here this long with them wandering around like that."

*a dark thought hit your mind.* Maybe.. Maybe they're her experiments.. Like Flowey. But why would she leave them here.. Hmm..
Sans: maybe she's.. Hiding them from the public? Embarrassed or ashamed of failing..?
I dunno. But I'm surprised they haven't killed her. They almost killed us. Anyway.. When you are ready to move on, let me know. We don't have to yet. Hell, it's kinda hard to determine whether it's day or night in here.
Sans: true.

*gets off you and stands up*
"there's no point in wasting time."
*looks around nervously*
"besides, i want to get this over with as soon as possible. this place is starting to freak me out."

*you get up slowly. Within a timeframe of about 5 minutes you packed everything up. You also ate energy bars, in case a battle would occur.*
Ready?
Sans: ready.
*you walk along side him, going through what seems to be an endless hallway. After a good 20 minutes, you hear a claw scratch along the wall..*

*startled, i turn to see what had made the sound and readied my weapon. it was, as expected, an amalgamate, but it was the largest one yet. it growled and said something but you couldn't tell, it sounded like a bunch of voices yelling at once. i was visibly shaken, watching as it moved awkwardly on its multiple sets of legs, some of which, i noticed, weren't even touching the ground. it seemed to be fighting itself.*

*the amalgamate stumbled over itself, almost crushing you. You picked Sans up and sidestepped, so he wouldn't become a pancake. Not thinking, you punched it's leg, only to get yourself stuck in it. You tried to pull free, but it wouldn't budge. You grabbed your sword and sliced through its gooey substance. You were free, but the amalgamate was agitated. It turned and let out a horrendous roar. It shook the room, and you and sans fell back.*

*i get up and pull you to your feet, making sure you're okay before removing a hotcat from my pocket. i always had some with me in case i encountered a customer when away from my stand. i threw it towards a corner to distract the amalgamate.*
"hurry!"
Β *i tugged at you hand and we bolted, putting as much space between us and it as we could. it roared behind us, apparently not affected by the food.*
*i glanced behind us, it was getting closer and closer by the second. i searched my pockets for anything useful and pulled out an almost empty ketchup bottle. i squirt the contents into it's eyes and threw the useless container at it's head. it screamed and swerved to the side, crashing into the wall. it fell unconscious.*

*the noise awoke more amalgamates. You and sans bolted down the corridor, unable to teleport in the hall. A special force blocked it. You saw a door in the distance. You heard roars trailing behind you.*

*i run faster, wincing. i've never ran so fast in my life, i've never had to. my legs stung as crack was forming, blood beginning to drip. but i'd have to worry about that later, for now i'm more focused on getting us to safety and saving our timeline. we have to get out of this alive!*
"almost. . . there!"
*i lunge for the doorknob as the amalgamates draw nearer and nearer.*

GET IT OPEN!! *you slashed your sword through a line of amalgamates, buying sans some time. Sans nervously got it open. An amalgamates grabbed your leg.*
Agh! Get off me!!
*you kicked it off, but it's mangy teeth dug through your leg. A jolt of pain went through your leg. You dove through the door. Amalgamates thrashed, trying to get through the door. You got up, temporarily ignoring your leg, helping sans hold the door shut. You stabbed at angry claws and teeth with your sword.*

*i held back the door with both my magic and strength, shutting my eyes in concentration.*
"you go ahead and keep looking, I'll hold them off!"
*i grabbed the nearest object and pushed it against the door as well.*
"quickly, we don't have much time!"
*i brace myself against the door, arms and legs shaking from the pressure. the crack in my tibia was now bleeding heavily and growing larger, causing me to let out a small whimper and clench my teeth.*Β

Hold on!! *you throw yourself into the door, causing it to slam shut. You grab objects with magic and crawl away from the door, using the various objects to barricade the door. You set the souls by Sans and whimper slightly as the gash in your leg bleeds.*
Urgh... *your vision blurs and you nearly pass out from the pain. You reach in your bag and grab a kind of poultice out of it. You strap it to the crack in sans leg. You use magic to help it heal faster. You tried to stand up. Your vision blackens. You pass out...*

*i glance back at the door, making sure it was secure before getting one of the sleeping bags from earlier and laying you on it. once again i grabsome bandages and wrap in around your leg too, along with some antibiotics. i sit nearby, waiting patiently for you to recover and watching over you and our belongings. i sigh, how many times would we be injured on this mission?*

*you writhed around in your sleep. You had a nightmare. In the nightmare, Sans was killed by amalgamates. You ran from them, down an endless corridor. The amalgamates had the faces of your friends. One pounced.. You awoke, eye glowing, on the verge of tears.*
n-no Sans no no no I'm sorry I'm so so sorry noo!! *you weren't aware of his presence. Sans rushed over and did his best to comfort you. You and sans had had similar nightmares before, so he had experience. Images of your friends flashed in your mind.*

"it's ok. i'm here now. it was just a nightmare, it wasn't real."
*i knew that was a lie, nothing was going to be "ok" until we were far, far away from here. but lie or not, i hate seeing you upset.*

I'm sorry for bringing you into this mess.. But we're doing this for them.. *sigh*
Sans: we'll be okay.. I gotta say.. I owe ya one.
I'm so sorry.. Im not just doing this for them either.. I'm doing this for you. All of you. You're under so much stress trying to protect everyone.. You're never truly at ease.. I just want all of you to be happy.. Get the ending you deserve.. *you hug him tighter.*

*i smile, easing into the hug. it felt nice, i hadn't hugged in quite a while. it lasted some good solid minutes before we finally released each other. seeing Amber relax a bit, i get a strange feeling that i couldn't describe. it felt like nothing could stop me, that weΒ wouldΒ get through this together andΒ nothingΒ could stop us.*
*You're filled. . . with FORTITUDE.

*after a while, the amalgamates got tired and went away from the door.*
Looks like those suckers are gone now..
*you grab some hot cats and roast them over the magical fire. You drown them in ketchup. You hand one to sans. You felt a feeling you couldn't describe.. You're filled with.. Confidence! Eventually, you and sans fell asleep. You didn't have any nightmares this time.*

-Back in the ruins-
*Toriel walked calmly through the purple rooms, checking to see if a human had fallen down. Toriel came to rest in the doorway, were a child was kneeling over something, which went unnoticed by the goat lady.*
"Ah, my child I did not expect you to come so soon. You're the first to have fallen down in a long time. I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. Come, I will show you around the catacombs."
*Toriel smiled and took their hand, which was covered in bits of ripped flower.Β
"My child, what have you been up to? That kind of flower can be hard to come by in the underground. Here, I will clean you up."
*The human said nothing as they were lead out of the room, leaving behind a trail of horribly beaten petals, which seemed to have a strange red tint to them. The room was left empty, the only thing left was a bent up stem andΒ unrecognizable heap of plant fiber.*

-back near the core-
*You awoke with a shudder. The human had fallen earlier than anticipated. You sat up, suddenly frightened for tori. You shook sans awake.*
Sans! We gotta go! The kid fell early! Toris found them!
*you jumPed to your feet, helping sans to his feet*

"this is bad, we don't have much time. we'd better hurry before we're too late."
*i look around, i have a feeling we're very close to what we've been looking for, i peek into the next room. there. i ran over to the large machine.*
"i think this is it. you got the souls?"

Yeah. Here goes nothing! *you and sans put the souls in the machine. You brace yourself for what's to come.*

*the machine roars to life, much more intimidating than it should have been. why does it look like a skull? it rumbles for a some time before the noise finally dies down. i disappear behind it for a few seconds and than emerge carrying several beakers, each containing peculiar glowing liquid in a variety of colors.*

It's.. The DETERMINATION from each of the kids who have fallen down! Patience.. Bravery.. Integrity.. Perseverance.. Kindness.. Justice.. And.... DETERMINATION.... *sigh* those poor kids. They weren't the ones we needed to worry about.
Sans: you actually remembered them all?
I killed one of them. I never forgot the rest who died for no just cause. Unfortunately, we can't undo that. But what we can do.. Is stop the one that's a threat! Now.. To put those years with you and gaster to the test!! *you took the beakers and began experimenting.. Trying to figure out a way to use the DETERMINATION without melting you and sans.*

"i think we'll be needing these."
*hands you safety goggles and gloves and puts on my own pair.*
"just in case, who knows what this stuff can do to us."
*i pour each beaker's contents into smaller test tubes for experimenting.*

Hmm.. *you take a small amount of each soul and pour it into another test tube to see the reaction. Bright puffs of smoke arose from the tube. But the mixture turned gray.. How... A sudden realization hit you.* Sans! Monster and human souls aren't much different! Monster souls hold one of each characteristic! Humans have multiple!

*i look over your shoulder.*
"nice going, if we keep this up we might just be able to finish before the human gets any further or hurts anyone."
(just wondering, what were we doing again? We're trying to make ourselves powerful, right? I'm sorry I forgot.)

(We r trying to figure out a way to combine the souls with ourselves and defeat chara/Frisk before toriel or anyone gets hurt and so they can not reset. Splitting the amount of DETERMINATION so as to not die, we will have half the total amount of DETERMINATION and work together to stop them.)

(Oh okay thanks. Also, what time is it where you are? It's about 10:00 pm here what the heck, I'm going to sleep now.)
*i take the test tube and examine it.*
"you're right. this may be easier than i thought."
*i smile. we might still have a chance!*

Th-the kid.. They're fighting toriel now! *you get out your phone.* call me! Sorry, but I gotta help Tori. If you get stuck, let me know. I can talk mid-turn. I gotta hold em off, but I can't for long. Once you're done, teleport to me!
Sans: you sure you're gonna be OK?
I care more about Toris safety than mine. Just worry about the souls and DETERMINATION! *you teleport to the battle. Just as Toriel was about to be hit, you blocked it with your sword.*
