As promised, I made a Shading tutorial!

Question: what's the difference between the different types of layers? what makes a multiply layer different from a normal layer etc.?

actually
is the type of layer that makes the difference.
if you leave it in multiply / overlay or other...

think of layers as if they were paper.
you will put into effect different papers
and then you can join them

A multiply layer darkens the color that you chose, and a shade layer does that even more
Multiply < Shade
