It's whimsical, and somehow seems to invoke steampunk even when there are fancy windmills.
It's also almost as if the people are less real than the landscape or buildings! There, but perhaps less enduring or necessary to the place, temporary occupants rather than creators.
The evening ambience is very well done. The sky is still lit, some buildings are still in sunlight, but the lights are on, the streets are dusky, and the people are all in the shadows.

Really nice! Awesome concept! Somehow its got a scandinavian feel to me. Maybe cause they tend to paint their barns red like your Barnfortress. Well done anyway!

Most environmental pieces are like a nice picture - something you look at, admire the craftmanship and the beauty, say 'that's so pretty', then move on. This is one of the rare images that instantly makes me want to go inside and explore it. It's wonderful.
