its Dave Strider.Heck i love this guy.
and just to make things clear, i dont read Homestuck.
i never got past 2 minutes of chapter 1.
and i never will dare to go farther.
why?
1. im scared of the fandom.
- dont get me wrong. i just dont want to end up getting addicted and going insane over something else.
2. chapter 1 bored me to death.
-no offense, but i couldnt handle the slow start. sorry.

prolly because i heard his name from one of my Homestuck obsessed friends and then i decided to look him up.
THEN i found a Dave strider artist here on DA and her arts are amazing!
i then happened to stumble upon Daves Wiki page.
and holy
i fell. in. LOVE.

Actually, after I posted that I remembered back to how I even started reading homestuck. Someone here on Deviantart actually linked me to [link] so I watched it.
MIND. BLOWN.
So after watching that, I was actually encouraged to go through all the boring stuff in chapter 1 in order to get to the epicness that would eventually lead to that. When I got especially bored, I would pass the time by looking up art or fanfiction of the homestuck characters to keep me revved for what would come next. As you get farther in, the story gets pretty hilarious and the characters more indepth, and you'll learn to stop everything and get ready for some awesomeness whenever you see the [s] command. The farther in you go, the more interactive pages you'll find, from simple things such as strifing with Rose's mom ([link] ) to exploring huge areas as the characters defeating enemies ([link] )
Holy crap I'm ranting. *deep breath*
Ummm so uhh. Yeah.
I'm actually not that far into homestuck XD Maybe about a third of the way. But you'd be surprised to see how some of the sillier things from the beginning actually become important aspects of the story later on. And although the character jumping can be confusing sometimes, it'll become easy to follow rather quickly once you get used to it.

Something I realized the other day is that even though the number of pages Homestuck has is very daunting, most pages are actually very quick to get through. In 30 minutes I managed to get through 150 something pages.
But of course, no one can force you into homestuck. It's something you'll ave to grow to love (or loathe) on your own!

I've gotten semi-far in homestuck, enough to know pretty much all the characters.
Its seriously boring, like you said, and I have a hard time thinking why everyone loves this sheet so much. :c
The reason I'm still reading it is to understand and get along with the crazy fandom, if I don't they'll kill me asdfghjkl. @n@
