Description

If it's of any consolation, I am listening to the Toxicity album by System of a Down right now x'DDD

-----

Okay I might be lazy in not looking up solid in-my-face reference to begin with, but I wanted to try it all from memory first. The kinks to their design will be worked out for the next practice sessions (there's no way I'm going to try and emulate the actual Disney style; we've discussed this with Goof Troop )

To Disney fans everywhere, I'm not sorry...

Vanillatastic *runs for the hills* It's so one-sided I swear!

Wow, been so long since I've been on DA. But I must say your drawings is one of the top things I've missed about DA. I love your drawing style, and I love how you draw them. And for being draw from memory, you've done a pretty good job too.

Poor Vanellope, but I like when things get a little twisted and dark.

I know it's been a while; missed ya ;o;

I'm glad that you enjoy my work; cool that I did a good job fleshing the characters out with little reference.

Ooh yes. I'm actually working on something else involving Turbo/King Candy and Vanellope that is also dark n' twisted... Still debating if I should color it digitally or not.

Aww, miss ya too.   Life been crazy, especially with my two cat babies Maru and Mia.

They always make me wanna draw again, even if I don't have a clue of what to draw.

Oh~ That really sounds interesting, nothing better then giving a dark twist were others least expect it.  I like both ways, but for some reason I like more the traditional raw version.  Kinds of helps add more to the dark twisted vision or at least that's what I think.  But at the same time text are more clearer to read when in digital and also one can get the exact colors one wants in a drawing.   Ugh. That's a reason why I always save a scaned copy on the computer. So that no matter what I chose, later on I can have the option of doing the other version (weather traditional or digital). I'm one who like to go to old works when I'm kind of stuck for new ideas.

Cat babies! I just draw whatever interests me at the moment, or whatever I'm commissioned to do. I can do more realistic and artsy type of stuff ( ) but my passion lies in cartoons/comics

"Raw" version--you'd be the second person to prefer that overtly I could always make the traditional outline more sketchy while coloring it digitally (Photoshop with a "multiply" layer preserves the outline so I can add the color/shading underneath). I prefer traditional since it actually takes me less time to do since I have more control over what goes where. I sometimes do the same thing with looking over older drawings but only if I'm working on a long story to prevent continuity errors (e.g. MaxBradley). My ideas are resurgences from my childhood that I decide to revisit after learning how to draw certain character types better than before.

Yup! My mom has finally accepted that there's a high probablility that I'll be a crazy cat lady and that Maru and Mia are gonna be her only grandchildren she gets from my side.

I'm the type who enjoys watching more a traditional piece then a digital. I like both types, but yeah I'm more of an old school lover. (I think that's why mom trends to say I was born on the wrong time line. Since I trend to like older music and antics, more then modern.) Oh, I see. And I get what you mean, I've gotten so used to drawing by hand that when I try to use the computer it's imposible unless I leave the original as background, add a layer and trace the lineart of the original one I've made. True the worst thing that could happen to one while working on a long story is making a continuity errors. Many of my OCs are from when I was in middle school, some from third grade. Some even went thru drastic changes, since I can now see in my mind how I saw said OC, when before I didnt have a concrete form. But I still have a long way before I get the skill to draw them just like I want them. Sadly there are many others that had to be left as what they all, old drawings. Since I can't find a place for them. I used to draw a lot of nameless character before, since I didn't talk in school or outside home I got myself lost in my drawing notebooks.

At least you can throw them at burglars that invade your house? (assuming that cat ladies have more than 2 cats )

I'm the same way; I will admit I get a bit jealous at those who master the digital medium but since they have all the time in the world.. I'm the same way since I happen to enjoy the stuff that my dad got into in the 80s. For some reason I wish I lived in the 50s--even though I'm Mexican and that would put me at an obvious disadvantage I suggest that you make the pencil lines as dark as possible and color underneath that if you want to I remember having a ton of nameless OCs--mainly Sonic related. Those that did manage to get a bit of background were never fully realized, oh well... I doodle on the side of notes during class still, but it depends on which class (the harder it is the more likely I'll pay more attention to lecture, even if the instructor goes into some story that relates little to the topic we're learning >.<)

lol True, that is one of the advantages of being a cat lady.

True, my little sis started practicing since 6th grade and now she's in 9th grade and she's better in digital art then me. I think it was due to my personally that I wasnt born on another time line. Wouldn't last long I think. Thanks for the tip, I usually use a pen in the end to make the oficial lines before coloring. But there are times were I either loss it or its empty. So I make sure to do that when I want to color. I never got the hang of drawing Sonic, my sister and my little cousin does (they're big fans of the game and show.) Like I try but it always comes more of my styles than of Sonic.  As for doodles, I trend to carry paper/notebook and pen everywere I go. So I can always make something (probably miniature) quick to pass the time. My parents always ask me why I carry so many things, but like I told them drawing helps me calm when I get stressed and when outside home I do get stress and anxious rather easy. So I prefer to have my calming method near me.  Yeah, better not get distracted when its needed.

That can explain it, although I'm 4 years older than my brother (1991 and 1995 is considered a leap for me ) and my digital work is better than his--but his subjects are more relatable (more popular?) and he'll get more views for it from his age group; nothing wrong with that though~

Yep I wouldn't last long x'D Ah okay whatever works for you personally. I did draw Sonic but I never adapted to the official style of that or any other franchise. I'm either a genius or downright lazy for not emulating said style Our parents also have issue with us bringing our paper/pencil/pens--my reason is usually to avoid boredom or to really get working on something that I want done as soon as possible.. I'm so distractable I have to sit in the front of the classroom every time!

The same happen to my sis, there are so many in DA that likes her drawing. (She once told me girl in a comic con recognize her drawing style in a hodie she painted for herself, but my sis got really shy and said she knew the artist, isntead of admiting it was her.) But that's good because it works for her as a motivation to improve and push her baries by trying other medias, like plush making, make-over for cosplay (I'm thinking of convincing my parents to get her that moldable fake skin so she can improve in her costume abilities.), digital, traditional and also try drawing from anthro, realistic, cartoon, anime, and her favorite Sonic style.

My style trend to change a lot, althou I think I'm close to one I like. But needs a few little changes, like the hands that are still a pain. I don't know, I think it's better when one learn to draw with their own style then by copying one, and then latter on if want like try praticing others. Because that way, one doesn't end up having dificulty at coming with they're own styles. But I think that really depends on the person drawing, right?

The problem I had in classes was that if we weren't doing nothing or the teacher was giving something I already knew (here in PR they give very basic English) I would end up falling assleep. In thos cases I always had a needle to pinch my fingertip and prevent falling assleep. But I do have the problem that I space out from time to time if no one is speaking directly to me.

heh heh (I would have so admitted to being the one doing the drawing *has a pride complex*) I was thinking of getting into plush making of characters that don't have a plush form.. considering I've sworn off buying any for myself now x'D (that would be cool~~)

Hands never really look like hands--I know that sounds weird at first but it'll make sense once you try out different poses with them When people emulate the style of the original thing, all that goes through my mind is something NewGrounds-related (e.g. adult-themed stuff). I'm so weird; I think of people that copy the real style as being less of an artist and more of an illustrator, following the step-by-step instructions to the miniscule detail and losing the chance to put confidence into their personal skills style wise..

I've rarely ever started snoozing in classes, even in my 6am one from Fall 2012
