New Dante looks like Edward Cullen but is too dirty for sparkling.
Vergil is just..fabulous (and looks like main evil chara of mission impossible 1 (I don't remember name
) ..and behaves like.....like...like NOT Vergil...wha was this sentence about "not saving human kind by Dante ?!" , even if it was kind of evil plan...well Vergil is too cool for evil plans like that. He is demon not gansta X.xand ...for me "let's rock" is STILL better than "Fuck you"

Donte sorry I meant Dante from DmC acts like tsundere... kinda type of character we all see in well most anime..
Dante acts like a american cowboy or like a Irish Gypsy...(I'm sorry if I'm wrong on this) I have meet many guys like him especially from south of US.. and I have never meet a character who acts like DmC Dante..( I don't think normal people acts like him anyways.. that would be very odd if I meet one like him..)
So Tsundere = Japan
and Cowboy= Western.

I just got back from playing the DMC demo and let me tell you.
That I just don't care.
Trust me once you've wasted two perfectly good weeks playing Devil May Cry 2. I honestly can't say this game is the worst thing ever to happen to the devil may cry series. This game isn't even connected to the main plot. And if... If taken as it's own entity it's not that bad, in fact it has a chance to be great given enough polish. The greatest burden DMC has is well being named DMC. And that's just sad.
PS: But since it's called DMC I'm obligated to say that I just hate every single fiber of being the new Dante has, He's cocky, annoying, mean spirited and ever all just a douche bag. The original Dante is shamed by his presence. DMC 3 Dante was right to try and commit suicide the shame is too great.
PSS: When the trailer of "Vergil's downfall" came out I just... Wow. He's not Fabulous he's just scary.
This isn't the Vergil from the original that much is true. But he's well better in some ways. I mean think about it what was Vergil's purpose in the original game. Power right? Why? What for? He's already powerful enough to kill several demon chieftains in one hit alone. Why does he he need more power? His "Evil Plan" seems kinda pointless don't you think? Sorry but Capcom not giving a proper explanation...he's kinda one dimensional. Albeit the pinnacle of Awesomeness and Badassery with surprising depth but still kinda one Dimensional.
The new guy however. Whoa. Just reading his back-story gives me the chills. A guy that lost his mother TWICE both his paternal and adoptive mother's bite the dust gruesomely. In turn he becomes a fucking Billionaire. A manipulative, anarchist who also happens to be a demon hunter, while also hiding an innate desire for power and domination. And trying and failing to be a good brother once in awhile. And by manipulative I mean manipulative, he shot his brother's love interest just to make him kill the main bad guy. Talk about low. His downfall all the while makes him more tragic since we actually see his mind snap... painfully. So yeah good character design is on spot there.
But since they messed up with Dante they just fell all the lower. This game will most likely bomb due to that fatal flaw. What wasted potential.

The resons behind Vergil's quest for more power is supposed to be implied in the DMC3 manga. He wasn't able to save his mother and Dante left him behind, thinking he was dead. Vergil was left alone with his mother's corpse, in a house full of demons who wanted to kill him, and he possibly became a bit bad in the head by being alone all the time. I supposed he felt useless because he couldn't protect his mother because he was weak. Then, he found a way to get the power to use to protect (it's said in DMC3, "without power, you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself"). He was so fixed with getting power that he possibly thought that a few sacrifices would be worth it, so when he rose the Temen-Ni-Gru it wasn't because of evilness (again, being left alone for so much time tends to mess with people's minds). When Arkham was telling him about the story of the tower, he simply didn't care. He just wanted Sparda's power, and after that, he would simply close the gates or something (in the end of DMC3 he decided to stay and left Dante go, since I think only one of them could make it out) Vergil's actions are in a pretty grey area. He's not good, but he is not evil. A villian doesn't wake up in the morning wanting to conquer the world without a good reason; Vergil is not an exception. One dimensional? Not really. Last time I checked, Vergil's not a backstabber like he seems to be in DmC.

While the DMC Vergil is Villain Protagonist.
Thanks so much for the info. Seriously, I knew Vergil from DMC3 was more deep than people let on. I just didn't know how. This cleared up a lot when viewed in retrospect. All that with just a few words and actions. Just amazing. Capcom should have introduced all these elements to the game. Not just hinted on it, I didn't even know DMC 3 had a manga. Might check it out soon.
Anyways I still have to give props to DMC for showing what would happen if Vergil had a better upbringing. The answer: Much. Much worse than in DMC 3. The more you have, the more you lose. And the more you lose the harder you fall. Maybe it's because ninja theory decided to show rather than tell,that makes the difference.
Still, not buying their Dante though. They need to try harder if they want to win over the classic Devil may cry fans.

Yep, exactly, Vergil is more of a character than 'some' fans give him credit for; maybe with not the best of the best of character development (damn you, cashcom!), but he's still good (glorious for me, but that's my opinion): that's why a handful of fans pretty much dislike (or hate) DmC (or DmC's Vergil, or DmC's Dante): the Vergil NT portrays is nothing compared to DMC3 Vergil (the same thing happens with Dante), and I'm not saying he is not deep or anything: NT's Vergil is... not the real Vergil. And that's all there is to it. Vergil doesn't stab you in the back, he stabs you in the front. Vergil wouldn't allow to be controlled or be the pawn of Mundus: in DMC1 he became Nelo Angelo because he was forced, since he had been defeated (but to his defense, we have to say that Vergil tried to kill Mundus after killing Arkham and after being beaten up by Dante. The epitome of determination). Here, for example, in DmC, I still don't know what are Vergil's motivations to 'backstab' 'Dante'. Hell, wasn't Dante going to kill Mundus regardless of him shooting Kat or not? 
Still, DmC is not good enough as a DMC. Nope. Nope. and you're right, their Dante is not good enough. No, their Dante can't even reach the meaning of 'good'. Just no.

I can't stand the game at all xDD When the rumors were first out, my ex couldn't believe how pissed off I was over just a game. I went on a very huge, 3-day rant. Until a friend told me that it wasn't really canon, just basically an AU. Then I calmed down, because somewhere, good ol' Dante is still around being the good ol' silver haired flirt in red. Who doesn't smoke. Or look like a hoodlum. And doesn't act like one, either. With a shit eating grin. :>
So yeah, I got super mad at the whole game xD I don't see how these 'fangirls' find the new Dante to be hot, or better looking...Eugh.......
