Description After the Ark II disaster, Soundwave, Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Starscream and Megatron (alt mode in this painting) are searching for lost Decepticons. Ravage has sniffed out Grimlock who has been buried deep in Arctic snow and ice for years. Tearing off his autobot insignia, the 'cons plan to recruit him on their side to rid the heroic Autobots.   

Loosely based on the start of Dreamwave's Vol. 1, Prime Detective.

This piece really draws you in. Even though they're digging up Grimlock it looks like Starscream and Soundwave are looking right at the viewer. Starscream's smirk really adds to how unsettling this situation is for the good guys despite how sunny and optimistic the lighting is. Good job

Thanks heaps!! In the Dreamwave storyline, the Autobots and captured Decepticons built the Ark II to go back to Cybertron. Not long after liftoff, the Ark II exploded and all the transformers on board were scattered across earth. Soundwave and Starscream have been revived and are now scouting for bots

Thanks so much!! I enjoyed trying to create an arctic scene. I wanted snow, but I also wanted a hint of sunshine as a visual metaphor for their feeling of finding Grimlock.

I think it's pretty fitting in this scene. Grim would have been easy to find if his plating was glinting in the late morning sun.
