Description
The 2015 World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets was a championship series that had a lot of incredible twists and turns.

Kansas City won game 1 5-4 in the bottom of the fourteenth inning on a sacrifice fly by Royals Eric Hosmer that was caught by Curtis Granderson, who hit a home run for the Mets nine innings earlier. However, Alcides Escobar hit an inside-the-park home run to give the Royals the first run of the World Series in the bottom of the first inning.

In game 2, after Lucas Duda scored in the fourth inning, New York's 1-0 lead suddenly became a 7-1 victory for Kansas City, after pitcher Johnny Cueto pitched a complete game while allowing only one run. This was because the Royals scored seven runs over the next five innings.

As the series transferred to New York for game 3, Kansas City held a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, only to give up home runs to David Wright and Curtis Granderson; these home runs put the Mets in front 4-3 in the bottom of the third inning. New York would score five more runs in a 9-3 win, but the next two games ended in controversial fashion.

In game 4, after the Mets held a 3-2 lead following the seventh inning, a key fielding error by Daniel Murphy resulted in the Royals scoring three runs to take a 5-3 lead; that was the final score, as the game ended in a double play in the bottom of the ninth inning.

One day later, after the New Orleans Saints won over the New York Giants 52-49, the Oakland Raiders won over the Jets 30-24. Despite the Islanders holding a 1-0 lead over the Buffalo Sabres at the end of the second period, the Sabres won that game 2-1. However, the most shocking story of the night involved the Mets.

After Granderson scored the only two Mets runs, the score was 2-0 at the end of the eighth inning. However, in the top of the ninth, after Matt Harvey gave up a leadoff walk to Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer hit an RBI double to cut the Royals' deficit to 1. A few minutes later, they tied the game when Hosmer scored the tying run. The floodgates opened in the top of the twelfth inning, when Kansas City scored five runs off of Addison Reed and Bartolo Colón. The game ended in the bottom of the twelfth as the Royals were able to clinch their second championship in franchise history, breaking a 30-year-old drought that was in place since 1985.

Sunny Flare was watching the game with her friends from her alternate universe and exploded in jubilation when she saw the Royals win the World Series. Meanwhile, Applejack is feeling a little bit sentimental about the events the happened last night, but hopes for the best for her favorite team, the New York Red Bulls.
