She sighed, and fastened the pouch shut, resting her hand upon it. Before her lay a great expanse of dunes, the Deep Desert. Under her feet was the last bit of vegetation she would see for many days, sparse though it was. Until she got to the Ghahib Oasis, that was. The first in a long string of secret havens, it would lead an experienced traveler such as herself through the dry peril of the sands, and to the strange cities that lay on the far side.

If the Temple would not have her, then this was her only choice, her last resort. She had to brave the Deep, and seek the mercy of fate. The mercy of the warrior prince, Ah-Harad.
