Description
I just came home from vacation yesterday. We traveled to the path of totality to see the eclipse at its finest.. And it was. If I had to describe it, I would say it was unreal. I stood aside a vast cornfield, waiting for the entirety of the sun to be obscured by the advancing moon. Approximately 30 seconds before the corona, birds were shaken out of the trees, cows were disturbed, and all of the streetlights switched on. All surroundings became shrouded in a bizarre, dark light. I waited until the "ooos" and "aws" until I then peered up into the sky to see the most artificial thing imaginable. It was like an elegant halo surrounding a black hole. It was the most magical 1 minute, 20 seconds of my life. After the corona occurred, a sliver of the sun pierced everyone's eyes, which made our eyes retire back to the ground. All surroundings slowly lit, streetlights switched off, and everything was bright again.ΒRelated content

ah man that sucks. Yeaa, a lot of people in the biggest hotspot suddenly got their sky shrouded in clouds, that was soo ironic. dude like, we sat on a lawn of a friend of my dad, they fried fresh caught catfish, and we all chilled and watched it. but hey, think of it this way, the next one's corona is going to be like, 7 minutes long hh

Someone I know who went to go see it said she actually cried when she saw it, since it was so awe-inspiring and such a rare and beautiful moment. I wish I could've been there to see the totality. We got 98% where I live, but there were so many clouds that we only caught a few glimpses of it.

Absolutely, even though it was brief, I'm thankful that there were enough breaks in the clouds to give us a chance to witness the event.

This is magical. The description really sets the mood and tone of the picture and I could like? ? PICTURE IT
I'm unfortunately in sweden which has never had and never will have a total solar eclipse! I watched it on livestream and thought it was so stunning, I can't even IMAGINE what being there must've been like. The colors in this are stunning as well, I love the pink coming out from behind the clouds and ofc the actual eclipse itself ! So dramatic and beautiful

Thank you! I really appreciate that. I'm glad I could present an accurate image to someone who hasn't seen it in person.Β Perhaps in 7 years, you will have the opportunity to visit America to see the next one. Get this: The next chrona will last for a whole 7 minutes.

That's insane!! I wonder what determines the length of it?

Perhaps the speed of which the moon is advancing? Maybe the next one will be significantly slowΒ
