The "curly column" works well as a visual to soften all the straight lines - but I really like the staircase; the ceiling opening gives the impression of an entrance into a restricted area - like you can see on huge military transport aircraft and bombers such as vulcans B1, B2 etc.. or maybe even another "dimension". And its apparent lack of supporting structure adds to its
