Description Another little Gemstone 4 character of mine named Eisheth. She's a bit younger than the age restrictions of GS4 technically allow, but so far nobody seems greatly opposed. She's a Half-Elf, and her Human half is Tehir (a nomadic clan of desert-dwellers). As Humans in general have little respect for Half-Elves, she was taken as a slave not long after her birth when her tribe was defeated in a skirmish over water.

During her captivity, she became fast friends with a strangely intelligent jackal, who eventually freed her from her bonds and helped her escape. Her jackal friend was injured in the flight and they became separated. Eisheth now devotes her existence to finding her savior. She is terrified of the thought of recapture, completely ignorant of cities and their ways, uneducated, and antisocial. Oh, and very dirty.

Sketched by hand, then scanned and inked in Photoshop.

I really like the sweetness and touch of sadness in this piece. Makes you want to reach out and hold her.

I first encountered the name Eisheth in Jaqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy, the name itself once belonging to an angel. Is that where you found it too?

An interesting character. For someone who looks miserable, she's very cute. I think this piece really shows how well you can make your lineart, and it stands out here. The small details, like the oxidation on the collar, make it feel more realistic.

Yeaaah.. I like it. >.>
