Description
Another drawing that was halfway finished and I had to pause for a while, but have now finished. Being stuck at home during easter weekend sure is a good way of making me draw a lot

Anyway, three character's whom I am not sure should actually be part of my next-gen 'verse or not. On one hand...I've been fretting and designing and redesigning them for literal years, and already have an origin story figured out and partially drawn for them. On the other, I've only been designing their physical design for so long their while characterization is really vague, and I don't have a thought out storyline for them nor do they have a place in any of my already existing stories. There's also the problem with me already having to many stories I want to tell in this universe for me to add even more.

Then again, I really do like the designs, and I have been working on them for a while.... I'm just gonna say they exist in my next gen 'verse, as semi-background characters (That is, until I get sticken with inspiration and start yet another storyline )

Skydancer:
Alright, remember how I said I've been designing these for a long time? Yeah, not with Skydancer, that was a lie. In case it wasn't obvious, Skydancer's design is very much based on G1's Skydancer . Shocking, I know. The differences are the mane-style, I added orange to the mane (wanted a smoother transition between the pinkred and yellow, and it suited considering who their parents are), and they're not female.

For backstory purposes, their pre-mark name used to be "Prism Raptor", which they changed once they got their mark to "Skydancer" (the explanation in my next gen 'verse as to why everyone's name always fit with their talent, they often change it once they get their mark).

Their talent is long distance flying; they work as a courier and often enter marathons in their free time. As long as they have provisions, they can theoretically keep flying forever -their relativley large wingspan and their ability to "lock" their wings into an outsteched position for an extremely logn time (most pegasi have this, but can't maintain it for too long without pain), allow them to glide for long enough that they can sleep while in the air. They're not particularly fast, but since they just don't ever stop flying they're still one of the quickest couriers for distances longer than ten trots. (Just a made-up measurement, 1 trot = 150km ish).

They chose to change the name because they think "Raptor" sounds so agressive and raptors tend to not be migrating long-distance flying birds. They briefly considered something like "Prism Swallow" instead, but decided on Skydancer because it was the name of the first pegasus to fly around the globe (and also it sounded pretty).

They're chipper and energetic. They're still very much an introvert and while they like to spend time with other people, they need and love to have time flying alone. The infinite sky is their first love above all.

Neon Synthwave:
You know something I inexplicably really like? The 80's looking, neon colored, ground is a grid, palm in front of the sun, ...things. You know, the ones that look like Neon's cutie mark. Just, the colors are really appealing to me. I've been trying to make a design based on those for a long long time, and I'm still not sure I manage to convey the feeling I get from that art, but I think I still like this design

Her name was once again changed when she gained her cutie mark, from "Neon Lightwave" to "Neon Synthwave". Her talent is ...being nostalgic for other people's childhood? She revives and recreates old art and music, preferring the mlp equivalent of the 80s. That's why her name is "Synthwave", since that genre of music is inspired/based on 80's soundtracks.

She's moody and the epitome of finding anything her family does as cringy and lame. More than a bit too obsessed with being "cool" while at the same time claiming she doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

Iridescence Flare:
You know what else I inexplicably really really like? I don't know how to describe it, but you know those old-timey rainbows you see every now and again. The faded colors, the limited palette used, it feels like something I almost remember from when I was a kid. I can't explain it, I just love it so much. Search for "Retro rainbow" or "70s rainbow" and a few of the results are similar to what I'm going for. I tried to get that feeling across in Iris' design, and I while it's not exact, I think I got pretty close

Iris talent is show-jumping. It's mostly like the IRL version; there are obstacles placed and the pony needs to jump over them in a specific order as quickly as they can, while at the same time having as perfect form as possible. Due to the differences in biology, there is a winged division and a grounded division. The sport is quite popular, and ponies usually claim it's because they enjoy watching the athleticism on display; keeping the time while having perfect form takes extreme level of control of your body. There's a very common joke though, that it's less watching for the athleticism,and more watching for the jumpers'... control over their bodies.

Iris is fairly well known in the grounded division, and quite enjoy the attention that nets her. She's a bit of a diva, and likes to have everyones attention on herself. She's not mean or anything, just very self-focused. Though she's very kind and loving towards those she cares about. She expresses that love via gifts, and has the money from her career to back that up.

And that's them! As I said, I have an "origin" for them I'm drawing to explain where they came from and why they're not part of the main cast, which I'll post as soon as I finish it, probably tomorrow.

I didn't say who their parents are, but you can probably guess one of them. Though, in the context of the story they're less the triplets' parent, and more their genetic donor. You might also be able to guess the other parent -there are some clues in Iris' name and Skydancer's original name. Though they are really far-fetched so I'd be suprised if you'd guess it
