Nobody's quite sure how the Wa/Nookland descended Iona Snow came to be a part of the Kobayashi Yakuza organization. At least none of the rank and file members. Iona Snow is a near permanent fixture of the Wa Noir nightclub, acting as the resident Disc Jockey with a flair for ostentatious techno music. Iona herself dresses the part to, preferring to end designer punk clothing. But despite all that, the quiet Iona rarely stands out in a crowd, or even on her stage. This gives her a surprising amount of latitude to transition between both by simply setting up a pre-recorded beat, the introverted girl constantly observing the ongoings of the club with keen interest, while staying removed from it. If Iona prefers her privacy, she prefers it within the context of a loud bustling crowd.
Though this is on the surface. In reality, Iona's job as disc jockey is a cover for her role as the head of the electronic warfare branch of the Wa Yakuza in Beistad. Via her smart phones and laptop, Iona remotely manages a number of cybercafes spread over the city engaged in numerous acts of phishing, E-crime and intelligence gathering. While the Kobayashi's modest sized army of enforcers run protection rackets and loan sharks, Iona's hacking operation is what makes the Beistad branch of the Kobayashi syndicate profitable. A somewhat embarrassing situation given her technical freelance status to the rest of the organization, but she is considered an indispensable advisor and friend by Kimidori Kobayashi.

With war brewing in the city of Beistad, Iona is the Kobayashi syndicates eyes and ears, maintaining contacts in and out of the city. One such person being Lan Xuelan, a one time hacker rival turned associate after they both proved their mutual competence, and the revelation that Lan's internet tough guy persona nowhere near matched up to real life the way the uncanny enigmatic grace that Iona possessed in real life. Though while not ostensibly working against each other, the two of them know how fast allegiances can swift in a city like Beistad.
