Pan's Labryinth is such a visual masterpiece of a movie, it's remarkable that it's taken me so long to finally get around to making artwork from it! This movie is a Gothic Alice in Wonderland at its core - a dark fairy tale where there isn't a happy ending, but rather a lesson learned. Upon re-watching it as an adult, it still boggles my mind and confuses me, but I appreciate it a lot more now than I did back when it first came out.

I hope I managed to capture some of the creepy whimsy and wonder with this piece! I intentionally left things a bit loose and gestural, so it's not my cleanest work, but I think that it works for the subject matter.

This took me around 4-5 hours from start to finish.

This is done on 16"x20" black suede illustration board using an Iwata Custom Micron CM-C+ Airbrush, Createx Paints, and black and white charcoal.
