Description
The plan was to spend some time in the Rockies this year, but then work got all busy. So instead, when we were passing through them on our way to Calgary, I had to settle for some midday snapshots. This was taken earlier this year - I've never seen the lakes this shade of blue before (usually pass through later in the summer when they have more of a torquise-y greenish hue.)Lake Louise, AB, Canada

That's an awesome perspective! The color and clarity are great too, but the composition is really timeless. Do you ever license these or other pictures for use in video? I'm interested in the night sky, primarily. Either way thanks for sharing your work

I was there last summer hoping to get a shot just like this--but, alas, too many people.

Aw, I'm jealous, I haven't really been able to get out to the Rockies yet this year, though last weekend I got to spend some time in the Selkirks in Glacier National Park up in Balu Pass! That's one amazing place with great panoramic vistas if you're up for the hike. Gotta love Lake Louise though, lovely shot!

Thanks so much!! I haven't done balu but have heard great things about it. Been up around Illecillewaet a little bit. It's beautiful in there

I visited Lake Louise something like 25 years ago and loved it, but haven't had the chance to get back there. But I'm already making plans to make a trip up there in September 2015. From seeing your other work, I know there is a lot more to western Canada that I need to visit as well, but I can only do so much at a time.

I'm loving the color of that water. For some reason it still looks freezing cold though. I wouldn't risk getting into one of those canoes, too scared to fall over

You're right - the water is vey chilly!

From seeing all the great photos of her, I am learning that Canada is a breathtakingly gorgeous place.
This one does not disappoint.
Very beautiful!!
I once lived at the base of Pike's Peak, part of the Rockies in Colorado Springs, Colorado. If any place rivals the beauty of Colorado, it's got to be Canada.
