Eclipse is a Pegusus pony, Dawn's wife and the father of Cobalt and Storm. He learned to be a gentlecolt as he grew up and soon he would find himself as one of Princess Celestia's bodyguards. One day, while accompanying Celestia at a Young Flyer's Competition, he met a beautiful unicorn about his age. The unicorn's name was Dawn and soon the two would start dating for a few months until they wedded.

Soon after, Dawn was pregnant. Eclipse didn't want his job as a bodyguard to interfere with his relationship with his coming child so he asked Celestia for his retirement. Celestia could see in his eyes that to him, his family was more important, so she let Eclipse retire and to his surprise, let Dawn have her baby in the palace. The young foal's fur was the same color as his father's so it earned him the name Cobalt. Eclipse would teach his son how to fly and occasionally play with him.

Two years after Cobalt was born, Dawn became pregnant again. She delivered not a pegusus like their firstborn but rather a unicorn like his mother. This young foal showed how fast he could be so it earned him the name Storm. Interstingly, while Eclipse taught Dawn how to walk on clouds with magic, Storm didn't need to learn it because his father was a pegusus, thus he was born with his father's ability to walk on clouds. Eclipse would become very proud to have two strong children that never back down.
