Whew! This took forever, but I'm happy with it. This picture, like most of my big coloured A4 pieces is open to interpretation, as they always tend to stray from the original idea when I end up finishing them. Hope you like it ^^Drawn with watercolour pencils and fineliner on A4 paper, took approximately 6 combined hours to draw, scanned with an Epson Perfection V33.

Nice. This one reminds me a lot of Fern Gully. Wonder what destroyed the forest behind her. Dragons, maybe? Or worse, magical nuclear warfare?!

I didn't envision anything specific about what destroyed the forest, but whatever it is, it's progressive. That's why Fluttershy has such a look of despair even though where she's standing is perfectly healthy, because she knows there's every possibility that it could be destroyed along with the forest.

It's definitely an interesting backstory behind the piece. Perhaps it's an unknown disease that's spreading and killing plant life, or even gradual deforestation from ponies expanding their towns. Kind of reminiscent of real life environmental problems.
