He was born into a small family. Jin was seen as the protector of the Takenaka family. His mother Jun raised him along with his stepfather, Will Akiyama. His biological father, Naofumi, passed away when Jin was 5 years old from a terminal illness. In his place, Jun married Will, a Yakuza monk, in an arranged marriage. Jin had a pretty standard childhood growing up. With no other relatives except for his half-sister, Asuka Takenaka, Jin was pretty self-sufficient. He taught himself how to drive at age 13, and got his first job at age 15, acting as a security guard for the famed singer Yukari Suzumiya. He balanced his work and education pretty substantially as he went to the same high school as his boss. He had a close knit group of friends at school, from the RPG otaku Jiro Katahara, to the action movie enthusiast Kenshi Kobayashi, the music prodigy herself Yukari Suzumiya, his half-sister Asuka, the gardening duo Hotaru Yoshizumi and Kaguya Himeragi, to his best friend from childhood Yusuke Okamura and his partner in crime Estelle Minakami.

It's safe to say that Jin is one of your typical anime protagonist from a slice of life. Though, that's until he entered his training program to be a part time actor. One day, Yukari came up to Jin and proposed a job offering but with a cache. Jin has to enroll in an acting program to be one of Yukari's actors for her debut single in Japan. Reluctant at first, but he was pretty excited to find out more of the position. This could secure him a spot as Japan's next rising star in entertainment. Jin took the chance and enrolled in the program. One thing that Yukari forgot to mention was that she was one of the instructors running the class. While this seem like a golden opportunity to get another skill under his belt, Jin felt something weird in the air. As he was on a break from one of his classes, he overheard Yukari talking to one of the instructors about someone outside of the program. "I dont know about you but I think this will be a perfect way to confess my love to him". Shocked, Jin decided to wait for Yukari after her meeting and ask her directly what's going on. They both had a conversation and it turns out that Yukari wanted to get closer with Yusuke, Jin's best friend! Of course, this was when Jin decided to open up to Yukari after nearly 6 years of working together. He confessed to Yukari that he has a crush on none other than his best friend! Expecting a fight to break out, Yukari pulls out a reverse Uno card and accepts his confession! But why?

Well, let's dive a bit deeper into Jin's upbringing. When Jin was younger, his mother took him to a Golden Week festival, where he met Yusuke with his father and step-mother. Jun is actually good friends with the Okamura family and has known them ever since childhood. They both participate in celestial ceremonies worshipping the gods of harmony, Izanami and Kintaro. At first, they both felt distant towards another but when Yusuke was getting bullied by a group of ruffians, Jin fought them off with the Shadow Matrix, an aura of black magic that only is brought out when there are Devil callers in the area. Yusuke gave Jin a huge hug after he saved him from the attack. Their friendship soon blossomed and when they both entered their adult years, they soon began to catch feelings for each other. This was to the point of being unconditionally in love with one another. They dont have strong feelings for women as they've been protectors for their female family members or their female friends.

Back to the confession. Yukari knew Jin was different. He wasn't a typical heteronormative guy. She sees someone who shows compassion to those in need, a guardian, a fighter, a shield, and most importantly, a man. From there, Yukari thought of another idea for Jin. She owns a nightclub where she frequently performs. Yukari offers Jin a job as a bouncer, while also working at the bar. Jin gladly accepts and finishes his program. He received his acting license and started his new job as a bouncer. One night shift in and Jin runs into Yusuke. He chats with him for a bit and finds out that Yusuke now is in university and works as a secret spy. As the day ends, Jin and Yusuke stroll into Yukari's nightclub and proceed to have a little fun. They drank and had a good laugh, ending it with a romantic slow dance with Yukari performing one of her songs to soften the mood. It was a harmonious night. They both danced close to each other before sealing their fate with a kiss.
