This is a sketch for contest which you can find here: the-paper-pony.deviantart.com/… It should fit in a 11x14 frameThis is my entry. I had this idea for a while, i just never put it into paper, thought now was a good time ^_^
So yeah, it's just a sketch, so that's why the lines are a little messy. I faded the background so you can see the main characters better
As what their element names are...i dunno. Discord if obviously Chaos.
Nightmare moon is... Revenge? Sombra is.... uh.....Crystals? I dunno....LOL

Chrysalis is Deceit. (Tricked an entire capital city by posing as Cadence, and almost brought about it's destruction.)
Discord is Selfishness/greed. (Turned the world to chaos to suit his needs and didn't think of anyone else.)
King Sombra is Betrayal. (When he became king, he turned all of his subjects into slaves.)
Princess Luna is Sorrow. (Spends her days lamenting her actions 1000 years ago, and the ponies she never got to say goodbye too.)
Auizohtl is Cruelty. (Time and time again seeks out ancient magic to bring about suffering for everypony, his latest attempts with the rings of Scorchera.)
But what is the parallel to magic?

Since the picture was a contest entry there were rules to have been met. For example, it had to be in a 12x12 format, which is what I did. So unfortunately there isn't a bigger file. However, if you want to go ahead and vector it, be my guess. It'll even probably look better

I think they were talking about aspect ratio more than anything

Element names hmmm... surley you have got many of this comments, but this is just my humble opinion.
Nightmare Moon element of disloyalty (betrayed her own sister) / discord element of mocking (contrary to an innocent laughter) / Chrysalis elemnt of deceive (contrary to honesty, tricked everyone with her ability to change form) / Sombra element of rudness (contrary tokindness) / Sunset Shimmer a dark element of magic (contrary to Twilight who united all her friends she split them in the other world). / Still missing one more villain for the generosity element.
By the way I love this concept, looks like something that could be in a stained glass.

This would actually have made for a really interesting storyline on the show. The villains, having all been beaten by the Elements of Harmony, team up together to create their counterparts, the Elements of Disharmony. Too bad that 2 of the villains have already been reformed & as such, this wouldn't work. It'd still be pretty cool, though. However, they'd need 2 more villains for it to work.

Actually it could work. Luna was reformed but not the Nightmare mare. Her nightmare manifestation could easily be used by writers with just little background for her separations from Luna.
And Discord isn't technically reformed. Chaos switches alliances when it pleases it. Currently it's just greater reward for playing with the good side. Even in the new season he still very much enjoys the chaos that is caused around him. He just can't cause it him self and everything is good.

This is such a wonderful representation of the baddies in MLP. We love that it represents each in such a regal and attractive way. There are a lot of options with paper that would really make this piece shine including glitter paper and mirror board. It's such a fresh idea to have each of the four characters' roles portrayed by using the background to tell their stories. This is such a wonderful piece and a great entry!

Chrysalis is like the darker side of love, though, yeah? And she was doing what she did for the good of her hive. So she'd better fit something like Cruelty, and then that gives Sombra Despair
