Okay, so a couple of friends got all into traditional works, and I got bitten by the bug of their hype. I got a good deal on a ton of the good colored pencils thanks to one of them, and drew this so I could play with them.
Chris, being the more peaceful of the two Kinotoran kirin, is easily found only using his knowledge of martial arts to release energy and cure tension, but prefers to be alone to do so, as the ambient sounds of nature or just the plain silence keeps his mind from becoming distracted. The background was mainly added for interest after a point, and I tried going for a 'traditional Chinese painting' sort of theme for it. But I don't think I managed too well.
The scanner had awful specks on it that I couldn't get to go away, ew. And it tried draining it of color, so this was my best attempt at restoring it. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL DRAFT OF THIS HAD EVEN MORE OBNOXIOUS COLORS-
Speaking of colors, Chris is based from crystals, now especially crystal bismuth, which looks like this: periodictable.com/Samples/083.…
Hence, he has a hidden rainbow practically everywhere.

I must say I actually really love the colours.
You have done such a lovely job blending together all the different colours.
And I can't really see why you complain about the background either, as it seems gorgeous.
I especially love the stylistic way you have coloured the clouds.
The only thing I'd really point at if giving a critique would be the shading, as it seems to follow the lines, rather than shape, and thereby gives no clear view of where the light actually comes from.
Otherwise though, the picture is really lovely, and I really adore how well you managed the gradients despite the traditional medium.
