I had the random realization a while ago that the Mario boss Boom Boom and the Pokemon Electabuzz have a near identical gimmick. Boom Boom's main method of attacking is swinging its arms around in a circular motion and similarly, one of the main ways Electabuzz charges up electricity is by swinging its arms around in a circular motion.
