I recently got a copy of Soul Silver so I could play through Johto and Kanto. This game has a unique mechanic where you can see whether or not the starter is shiny without even picking it so any of the three could end up shiny. The generation two starters are one the only group of starters where I really like all three of the shinies. I've already started soft-resetting so it only a matter of time.
