==========================
Hey there, cats, I hope you all have been having a great time.
As I've mentioned before, every once in a while my day job produces something that I figure might be of some use over here. This is one of those. These are comps from a recent shoot and we've got the OK to post them here.
So, this wasn't a request (in the normal sense) and it wasn't designed to be stock or even to be a light study, but I'm hoping that it might be able to be used in that way by someone. In light of their intended purpose, these all have pretty much the same set-up; two suits, two pairs of shades, one H&K.
* Firearm Disclaimer *
No, of course it's not real. AirSoft, baby; cheap and safe (as long as you don't shoot anyone's eye out.

Wanted to let you know how much I like this image. The composition and sense of scale are excellent. And I love your technique for simulating the raindrops hitting the fabric. Exceptional work.

You know, when I see your stock images, I can't help but remember how I feel about the army and guns and all that, very mysterious and appealing but very scary at the same time.. Do you imagine having the power to decide of someone else's fate?
Of course, the reason I'm over-thinking it all at the moment could have something to do with my current situation; recently, I was offered an opportunity to work with the intelligence services, to put my nerdiness to good use, but for that I must first accept to enlist and go through basic training.
The army scares the crapola outta me! I mean, I've never held a gun in my life (except maybe for the insanely realistic looking arcade guns of my youth.. lol), and I'm just a little nerd (and somewhat of a philosopher as well).. But it's also so tempting! Who wouldn't want to become one of these guys in suits and sunglasses that are always made fun of in movies?!
I joke around but honestly, it's quite a dilemma, because it's an opportunity at a great career.
Well, thanks for allowing me this brief moment of introspection. I didn't mean to spam, I swear! Maybe next time I'll have some manner of artistic comment at my disposal instead!

Hi there. I don't consider that spam at all. Your situation sounds strangely familiar.
I spent 8 years, both active duty and IRR, as an officer in the US Army. It is a wonderful thing to be able to do something that interests you and that you are truly good at, but you are RIGHT ON about the awesome (in the true, almost never correctly used sense of the word) and real responsibilities that go along with that life.
I think your philosophical nature will serve you well, because these are decisions that should never be made lightly. I would recommend talking to as many people as you can find who have lived something similar to the life you are considering. Ask them about what the job is REALLY like (not what a recruiter or headhunter is pitching), what the real impacts on your family are likely to be (if you are planning on having one), and anything else you can think of.
If, after getting the best intel you can, it still sounds like the right thing for you, then at least you will know that you did your damnedest to make an informed decision.
I wish you the best of luck.

I like the pose and the lighting... but it seems a little blurry in places. What was your intended focal point?

This reminds me I have a finished lobbycard that casts you as that Lee Marvin-esque bad-ass laying around that I need to figure out where I got all the resources so I can upload it.
Thanks for the image post. I may use this at some point, but not sure. I gotta do the giallo poster next.

I really do love this, I guess because I am a fan of drastic contrasts when it comes to lighting effects. Heh, those glasses look so familiar..... they're not perchance a pair of Performance glasses, are they? They look exactly like the ones I wore for cycling.... before I wrecked them. Haha....

Actually, those are a pair of Skylons from Nike Vision (which was the purpose of the actual shoot. Good eye.)

Not exactly the kind I had, but they look excellent, I should check them out.... Though Oakley performance glasses still rule!

Such a great shot concept! Too bad the lighting is so low, and you're wearing glasses....otherwise this would be absolutely perfect for doing a somewhat actiony portrait of my assassin/hitman character. But I still love it.
...may use it anyway... ;3 The lighting is kinda coolish~
