I just finished this and it took me a bit but I hope it’s in. In the rules I didn’t see that I couldn’t enter two siblings so I did but just in case if it is against the rules I made seperate reference sheets for Bluejay and Cardinal which I’ll link below.

During time I was making these designs I thought of a story and a backstory for them which I might improve on in the future! So far I made this:

Bluejay and Cardinal’s mother was a Skywing named Finch that studied ornithology (the study of birds) and would constantly leave the kingdom to go out to forests discovering and documenting different birds. Finch would go to the rainforest often and look at the wide varieties of birds one could find there. One day she was going to the outskirts of the Mud Kingdom to birdwatch when she saw a Seawing on the beach walk right up to a bird she was examining for afar and give it something that was probably seafood, and then sat down and looked at the bird. Finch was looking at the Seawing wondering how it got the bird to trust him so much when her tail slipped and made a sound that scared away the bird. The Seawing looked up as Finch ducked back behind a rock when the Seawing walked over and saw her. The Seawing, whose name had turned out to be Puffin, was cautious at first but then saw that Finch had drawn the bird and several others over a book she had dropped in her fright. They started talking and soon they agreed to meet up again. After a lot of meetings Puffin confessed that he had fallen in love with Finch and Finch told him that she had too. They wanted to live together near the Diamond Spray River with big lakes for Puffin to enjoy and mountains nearby for Finch. Finch soon had a single egg that was much bigger than what she remembered a egg was supposed to be like but she was still as happy as she could possibly be. Two days after that Puffin mysteriously disappeared only leaving the egg to remember him by for Finch. This shocked Finch so much and she refused to think he’d ran away and that something terrible had happened. She decided that she couldn’t leave to look for him because it’s not good to move eggs when they’re about to hatch and she wasn’t about to leave the only thing Puffin had left behind.

A few months had passed and when Finch was returning from hunting in the mountains she saw the egg shaking. She instantly dropped the mountain goat she had caught and dove to the side of her egg. She knew that all she could do was wait for the little dragonet inside to kick its way out for it to hatch but it looked to be having some trouble to she decided to carefully crack a bit of the egg where she knew wouldn’t hurt the dragonet and the egg came apart in front of her. What she saw confused her when she saw four eyes looking at her and she soon realised that there were two dragonets inside. She was overwhelmed with happiness and she wrapped them both in her wings in a big hug. One was a pretty reddish, brown one which Finch had named Cardinal after a bird that she really liked the look of and reminded her of the pattering on her first dragonet. The second one made her feel overly happy to see. A beautiful dragonet that had a wide range of blues and whites that proved that they weren’t full Skywings. She named the second one Bluejay after it’s colours and the fact how it was the very bird that she was watching when she first saw Puffin.

That’s all I have wrote so far and it’s quite a lot in my opinion! I had fun writing it all and thinking of the backstory. I will probably eventually make reference sheets for Finch and Puffin and I really like what I’ve made!
