The men say that the houses are in their family colour. The reason for this is when they come home from a long day's finishing in the fog they can find their way home easier.
The women say that the houses are painted in bright colours. The reason for this is when the men come home from a long day's finishing..and then go to the local pubs for some drinks it is easier to find their way home.
