Description This is my friend Michel. I had just come back from lunch a little early for photo class when I realized I still had a few photos I still needed to shoot for my portrait project. I quickly (and without a tripod which is why its a bit blury) took a picture of my friends while they were in their art class. Michel is always drawing and she is amazing. (I'll have to see if she is on DA sometime.) I developed it really dark...her shirt actually has a lot of lines and tecture, as well as the pants but I still like the way it came out.

i like the shot. aside from the blurriness, this is really cool. she looks like she holds a pen like i do. people think it's freaky, lol. nice pose

Thanks.

I hold my pencil the same way when I draw...but my friends think I'm weird because I'll randomly switch hands when writing notes in class.

the composition of this piece is fantastic. the blurriness, however, is really quite distracting. camera shake is the bane of every photographer! *curses* what shutter speed were you using? usually if it's faster than 1/60 you don't get much blurring at all, if any. meh, just a tip. I suck at photography, s so i can't talk (i'm just presuming you were using an SLR here, so correct me if i'm wrong.)

there's a good, relatively broad range of tones in this piece, but, and please don't be offended, many of your photos look best as thumbnails like in your gallery. It's actually rather cool, because you can't see the blur, and it just looks awesome ^_^

Yes since I shot this so fast and not using a tripod the blur happened and pretty badly, plus my scanner wasn't working to well when I scaned it so it was blurred even more. I will try to fix that soon. As I was very new and this was literly a quick last min shot...no idea on the speed. *sigh...* Thanks for the tips. I am now using a digital...which always turns out blurry. But I hope to in the next year or so maybe get a better camera.

I totally understand about the thumbs. I am trying to do a little photo editing on the really bad ones to make them a bit sharper so hopefully that will help a bit. I am also editing photo sizes and adding boarders to make my photos at least a bit more professionsal.

Thanks for the comment!
