I love that song. The Shinedown version is better than the other version (Hoobastank's singer, I think?) in my opinion.

So then! About this particular image...
Kadaj, being spliced with the nomadic whipblade, is going to have horrible, horrible wanderlust.... And it's going to break both he and Nova's hearts when it's time for him to leave.
He swears he will return for Nova, but suggests they separate while he's gone, just in case she finds someone truly worthwhile (he doesn't think he's all that great... but Nova does).
No references were used, but I did seek coloring advice from the awesome *rachaelm5 , and I think this picture looks 95648516453 times better than it did on the copy I printed out and sloppy colored originally... thanks to her suggestions.

I think you've improved with side profiles a lot, I like them a lot here. And Kadaj's expression, how it's a bit blank and still sad, 'tis pretty too, everything is pretty :'3
One thing that I could point out though is that the chin's line up there, it goes a bit too far behind the ear. It usually curves up to meet the earlobe or you know :'D it's more pointy and square-like with men and more of a smooth curve with women, but it curves up nonetheless.
Not a very essential thing to point out but now that I happened to notice.. ^^'

Yeah, I noticed that I did their jawlines too far back, too... Of course, I realized that after I had already inked it.... DX But thank you for pointing that out! c: I hadn't really given the gradualness of their curve much thought, though. I'm glad you said something. I'll pay more attention to that in the future.

D: I LOVE THIS!!!! Damn chick! I dunno where to start D: First off, the background looks amazing, i really love the colours that you chose. The tree's and leaves look fantastic, kind of makes me think that the world is on fire. The guys expression is stunning, it really draws you in. they are so well placed and the emotion is so strong. The colouring on both characters skin is phenomenal. I adore it!

95648516453 better? That's quite a margin of improvement from just a bit of rambling! I'm glad that I could offer you useful words, and I really, REALLY like the way this picture turned out. The colors are wonderfully intense, and the way you worked the pink, purple, and gold into the two characters looks marvelous. I'd say you've made another quantum leap in your coloring ability, and that is very impressive to see.
