This is a scheduled post! I need to upload a lot before Friday.More overdue uploads of ATCs, this time featuring my favorite X-Man, Jubilee!
This time it's a dual-puzzle set, though I made it so that each one can also stand on its individual, uh, stand. The scanner was kinder to me this time around, even with weird looking pixel quality.This was done for my ATC portfolio at cons, and I almost came close to just doing 90s Jubilee (the right), but about a year ago I found a friend who loved Jubilee as much as I did (even more, tbh) and she really helped me saw current vampire Jubilee in a more positive light. At the time Marvel decided to make her into a vampire, there was Twilight fever and well...it was obvious there was SOME sort of cashing in :\ But my friend helped me to see past that and take it as part of Jubilee's character development!
Plus, baby Shogo is adorable
But yes, both cards are meant to reflect two sides (hah!) of Jubilee's history -- with Shogo there being the little light currently. /deep/

Well she is my favorite on the girl side , on the dudes side it is Gambit .
Here's the thing about the Vampire phase ; had it happened with the 90's X-Men era or Generation X, there would not be any problem with it. Jubilee by that point had a strong personality and that was her main superpower. Shogo ? same thing.
The true problem ? The 00's X-Men are for the most part featuring unlikable shitheads trying to be edgy or thought-provoking and the writers spending their time insulting the 90's instead of trying to tell a compelling story. Gambit and Jubilee are easily the only ones to remain likable and they are mistreated left and right as if they were irrelevant .

I'm more "indifferent" to the X-men -- I have my few faves, which Gambit and Jubilee are, but I could never digest recent comics really well. I've friends who've pointed the good stories from the 00s and they PALE in terms of numbers. There's more bad than good in the 00's canon (I say this admittedly as someone who reads Marvel on and off, more off than on.) I've seen the panels that insult the 90s (and Gen X comics!), and all I can do is shake my head and go "Really?" It's one thing to critique the real life decade, but it's another to critique certain aspects of the X-Men that a lot of fans like and that have helped contribute to a character's development.
I SO agree on the mistreatment of Gambit and Jubilee, Jubilee especially since I pay more attention to her whenever I skim the comic notices. I still can't believe she wasn't even included in the interior stories of the comics involving Wolverine's death. She's the first one who should have appeared, considering their relationship. (She appeared in ONE cover. One cover!)

The Good stories from the 00's ? None occured in the main books. NONE. The only good stuff from that period I can think of comes from spin-offs or satellite books. These people can bark all they want because THIS remains the best X-Men stuff I've read in terms of atmosphere, characters and storylines devilkais.deviantart.com/art/B⦠...and I haven't yet talked about my favorite Marvel Superhero (since he originates from it)...
The True Wolverine was gone a long time ago. Amazing that for a character that was handled by hundreds of writers only 2 wrote him as a great character (Larry Hama and Greg Rucka...).

I wasn't exactly Happy with them making Jubilee a Vampire either but it was more than worth it since it meant they brought Jubilee back and gave her super powers again.

Well, really cool is going a bit to far but was pretty cool as Wondra and since she rejoined the team as a Vampire she's been pretty good. Also the fact that they are planning to do a comic based on the 90's cartoon, But if they really want to make use of her they should do a Wolverine and Jubilee story arc in the new Wolverine comic as well as having her be a regular supporting character in that comic.

I think the comic based on the 90's is already out, isn't it? I admit to not keeping track lately because of work, but I think the first issue is out at least.
And that would be super cool, to be honest! Wolverine and Jubilee is one of my favorite pairs of all time, and she should definitely have a higher status! Did you read the Wolverine Annual where Jubilee and he go camping and there's WOLVES?

The Secret Wars tie run of the comic is out but i heard that it will to be turned in an on going series.
Jubilee should totally have a higher status even if it is a bit late now that she has lost her mutant powers and Logan is dead, after all treating her as she deserves should include doing justice to her powers and her playing Robin to Logan's Batman.
That said i don't think i have read that Wolverine Annual, i rather read all of that Jubilee limited series where she is taken in by her Aunt hope (I like the idea that Jubilee secretly comes from a long line of Assassins like the Lin Kuei).
