Seeing pics of Mephiles and Shadow make me think that Shadow is splitting apart, as if an inner demon is leaving his body, though thats not the case.

I mean in a way that's pretty much what he was. Showing shadow what he could do and crime if he betrayed his friends and such, but shadow didn't fall into it.
