Description
This is one of my few successful attempts at doing finished paintings that have no lines. Creepy bird mask man! I may do more artwork of this character in the future.Related content

Beautiful and a creepy at the same time, though it seems much more sad than spooky, in a way. I like his mask, his pose and the amount of detail put into this. Very lovely.

it reminds me of something i saw in a book about medieval times once, where during the plague the priests would wear this mask that looked like that with flowers in the beak so they didn't have to breath icky air!

I must know! What inspired you to do this image?
Anyway, about your image, I am really awed yet curious by the bird mask. He reminds me of an actual bird that is sorta curious yet have a predator streak within him. From look of it, he look like he just got out of hunt or fight. Your imagine got perfect value and contrast, even the balance is really excellent. It looks so real-like..
My first thought was the black plague in 14th century when the doctors wore bird-like mask to keep themselves healthy from the plague (of course, it didn't work very well).
In other words, wonderful job!

woah this is so awesome! Its like the myth of the birdmen i made up for my book... men who wanted so badly to become like birds they regressed into madness, crossed into the antiquae terrae and became mutant freaky people... this is like, the regress to madness stage and its JUST SO AWESOME!!!!!!

The contrast betwean the pale skin and the negative space of blackness... Perfect scary balance!
And then the character design with his prominent spine-thingy and rotting grean skintones. True macabre and horror! 
And I just adore the mask!
