Description
“Foxes got an opera ; bats got an opera ; why haven’t we got an opera for weasels?”“Because when you are doing what you call ‘singing’, everybody else thinks you’re trying to bite each others’ heads off.”
“But we are! That’s what makes it fun!”

I love your comments!
The former is far more relevant to animals; the latter, from what I can tell, is an animal comparison for the main character's behaviour.
Also, I somehow doubt weasels would be able to handle having a whole opera about them. Maybe a short one, like Schoenberg's "Erwartung", but even then, operas require decidedly unmusteline calm, continuous concentration in composing them, rehearsing them, performing them, and watching them.
Still, one can always dream. And a single song or short piece of music about a weasel or weasels is certainly not impossible to make!

I think you're right about Die Fledermaus. I've never actually seen it. I have seen The Cunning Little Vixen, which is quite lovely
Weasels do have "Pop Goes the Weasel", an utterly nonsensical collection of random phrases thrown together to make a song. I think the weasels would approve.
