We're in the same boat I see... I literally have an entire universe in my head but.... couldn't get myself to do all that.
As of now we had some fun with rp group, slowly working all these caged idea out until we can get it back all together.

What's this done in? Photoshop? I find a good way to shade quickly is duplicate the image in a new layer and set it to soft light, or multiply, then erase the areas you want highlighted accordingly or mask it off and paint in with shades of grey onto the mask,
Similarly if you create a multiply layer and just paint in light greys, you get some very subtle shadow and shading effects
The Line works cool in this and the base colours work too. Really wish my line art was on par with yours, can't draw vehicles well at all lol,
Figuring out lighting in 3d is a major brain ache, lastly, before this turns into a lecture (sorry) try putting a gradient over sections of the image set to soft light/overlay and mask it again, this gives a subtle shade change that you get in real life as opposed to flat colours

I like the colors you've chosen, it's very Advanced-Wars like. But some work is needed on the shading.

What program did you use to color it?

I already have the B&W version so I will color it, upload it with a link to the original and see what you think of it. I am only good with color pencils. Coloring via computer is a bit too time consuming for me.

Hmmm.... I really like how the colors came out, though I'm used to militaries having darker color schemes. Yours look like they are set for desert fighting. Perhaps, more shades of orange to add variety and a sense of shiftiness(?)

The sky could be done better too.

Still, it looks awesome
