The Imanian built Halai armored engine family was the backbone of the Dominion's armored forces in the great war. Halais were easy to produce and maintain and saw action in all theatres in the great war. That is, the Continental Alliance encountered these light treads in Fusha , Estille, Dahomey, Nordvest, and even Ensahaw. The Halai's speed fit well with shirudan military doctrine. Many shirudan engine crews favored it over locally made armored engines that tended to be too heavy for their worth.

The Hessian built Preste Raud is on the other end of the spectrum. It was heavy and were mostly confined to the hoffnung front. Few Preste Raud companies were deployed at Nordvest and Imania. The Preste Raud was heavy, it couldn't keep up with the other armored engines deployed by the Dominion. However that doesn't mean that the Preste Raud landship was a bad machine. Performance wise, it was the best landship fielded by the Dominion.

During the later stages of the war Preste Raud units regularly held the line against landships twice their number. Although some would say this was due more to poor leadership on the side of the alliance than the Preste Raud's actual specs. At this point, Alliance landships were technologically superior to the Dominions'. Instead of keeping up with the technological race, Dominion command decided to amass more landships, hoping that the numbers could stem the turning tide. In the end, the Dominion had neither numbers or technology, at least in the landship department.

Most of the heavy armored engines deployed by the shubs didnt have rotating turrets. They relied on the Halai and the Preste Raud to compliment their fleet of self propelled guns.
