Taming a Comet (Attempt 1)“Today’s the day,” Chelsea whispered to herself as she slipped into her boots. This day marked her first day ever going out into the wilds by their farm to try and tame the magnificent creatures that roamed them.
“I’ll be back in a few hours!” She called into the house, earning a grunt in response from the kitchen from her sister who was making herself busy for the day with cleaning.
The winter air had a nice, chilly, bitter bite to it as she exited her house and made her way.into the woods beyond. What wonders was she going to find today, she wondered? Just the thought made her giddy as she began the long walk through the snow to reach the forest that laid adjacent to her family's small stables.
As she finally reached the outer line of trees of the forest she paused to take one big breath and sent a silent prayer of good luck up to whatever horsey or magical gods might be floating up in the heavens before she finally took her first step within.
