Description
Imagine a world where the Confederate States of America won the American Civil War, and then fought three more wars with their northern neighbour over the next century. As everyone knows, slavery was one of the "States Rights" that caused the Confederacy to be formed. With the war won, the plantation owners felt themselves justified, and kept on doing business as usual...When emancipation was declared right after the Second Mexican War (1881-82), nothing really changed. The slave became the employee, and only got paid a pittance.
It's no wonder that by the eve of the Great War that a majority of Confederate negroes were advocates of Marxism-Lincolnism. Through out the South, voices whispered:
"Come de revolution, de Buckra gwine pay!"
The Revolution finally came in 1915, and many autonomous states, like the Congaree Socialist Republic in South Carolina, sprung up. Unfortunately, they were brutally put down by the Confederate Army.
But the dream never died, and posters like this one, kept on being plastered here and there...
Based on Harry Turtledove's Timeline 191 series.

It's cool how the chain link that's broken away looks like a freed human figure, escaping skyward.

That was unintentional, but now that I notice it, it works.
I was just making a chain snap using 3 repeated shapes in Illustrator.
