Description
Walkthrough of this environment art I was commissioned to make for an upcoming visual novel. First section shows my progress modelling it in Blender. Second section shows my paintover -- the third image in this section is the final BG. Then there's the wireframe and a couple of screenshots of it in Blender.

Your work is an inspiration, and ever since I saw this particular background I've wanted to make something like it. I never would have imagined this started with a render with how soft and painterly it ended up being.
