- Oh my god, you guys really don’t like this teacher! I should point out that I did a poor job explaining why Modest was sent to detention. I meant to show that when she springs up in this strip for her impromptu introduction she’s interrupting class. I was going to show that by adding in some extra word balloons behind hers to show that she was talking over the teacher. But I didn’t do a good job of conveying what was happening. Anyway, that doesn’t mean she’s not a mean teacher, but Modest is kind of hard to handle.
– I’m taking next week off. Taking a few days off in Late May has become kind of a tradition. Plus it’s my birthday on Weds. I’m going to go see Mad Max with Kate, Will and Nick, hang out with Marah and work on the next Ghost Kiss comic. I’ll be posting some Ask Medusa strips as filler. I’ll also be posting a new Asami Loves Korra comic sometime next week.

Oh, ok, I did think it might have been the case but the strip made it look like the Modest-Marah conversation was really quick and that Modest jumped almost immediatelly after her sitting down but if she jumped up in the middle of the class, yes, that makes a difference. Thanks for explaining, though.

Oh, I guess I haven't done a good job of advertising how to ask. Normally people just post questions in the comments of whatever strip, or one of teh Ask Medusa cartoons. Sometimes people send me messages or emails (or slip a sheet a note under my front door)o

Yeah my thoughts exactly, I wasn't getting a jerkass vibe off her. And normal person would react that way from seeing something like Modest introduced to their classroom. She wasn't being malicious just more concerned with how everyone will treat her. Sure over time, Modest will come to call her a friend.

That fourth snake is so separate from the other three. When they behave, it's doing something wrong. When they eat from the "evil" teacher's hand, it doesn't. The fourth snake is currently my favourite minor character in the Modest Medusa-verse. Hopefully it doesn't bite the hand that feeds the hair

Bit hard to miss now, I did an archive trawl recently and I could only notice that fourth snake after seeing some comments about it being "separate" thinking. Ah well, happy (early) birthday! Have a good vacation!
