I like how even though the "fairies" in the setting are generally portrayed as evil, here they're just another race in a civil society. I just think it's cool that you did that.

Thanks. Up until now all the Fairies we've seen were soldiers in the Prince's army, and most of them were specifically working in the Prince's castle. So they probably weren't very nice people. But the Fairy army has been occupying Yeld under the Prince's command for hundreds of years, and at this point there are probably more Fairy civilians than soldiers (probably a LOT more).Whole generations of Fairies where the people of Yeld are they neighbors and friends.

I have this disturbing picture in my head of a "grown-up" Medusa with her remaining snakes still accompanying her ... but a shrivelled little head concealed under the big head, all that is left of the original human head. Eu-yew.

I mean I noticed from the get-go that she didn't have them when introduced. I just assumed that she never had any. It's these flashbacks that are giving new light.

Well, there does seem to be some stuff that happened between point A and point B. I'm not sure how she got that house for example.
