Technically itβs a magical luck bunny imitating the appearance of Pikachu based on Modestβs imagination, not actually pikachu. Considering itβs summoned rather than carried in a pokeball, a creature of magic rather than an electric charged animal, and is specifically called a luck bunny, it probably counts as Fair Use under tribute, or inspired by without being a direct copy. While itβs electric and looks like pikachu, itβs definitely not the same thing.

When I saw the first one, I kinda suspected Modest's might be a Pikachu because the general shape had some similarities. Such as long ears, round body, general size... And the fact she described it as her own real Pokemon.
Still, it's great to see the previous hints come to fruition. Amazing work on the comic, and great use of foreshadowing as a storytelling element.

It was foreshadowed when she described it as her own pokemon. And her sister's luck bunny, while a different color, had the appx size, round body, and long ears that are similar to pikachu.
